Dr. Borbála Biró, professor emerita of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences is a recognised soil health expert. It was already clear for her in the 1980s that plant-animal-human health are interlinked and strongly depend on soil health and diseases could be remedied by improving the biological properties of the soil with a help of soil inoculants containing beneficial microorganisms. At the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Dr. Borbála Biró has investigated the effects of microbial soil and plant conditioners and yield enhancing substances in several national and international projects. She is not just a dedicated professor, who is educating students about soil health, but a devoted soil health ambassador, who takes all opportunities to promote soil conservation and eco-friendly agricultural techniques to farmers and the general public.
